You are right but I guess we will not have the time to move to gcc 
4.0 and release 2.0 in a sustainable time frame that is not that 
much behind the major plattforms Solaris, Windows and Linux. 

I'm not a coder and I may be totally wrong but what I heard from 
Florian so far let me come to this conclusion. 

So we have to decided wether we want a gcc 4.0 2.0 OOo for Mac OS X 
which may delay release for some more weeks or if we want a gcc 3.3 
2.0 OpenOffice.org which forces users to execute gcc_select. 

I can make a big note for Tiger users wanting to compile OOo that 
they need to do a sudo gcc_select before starting the build process 
of OOo 680.
