Today, I removed pkgsrc and swich back to fink again.

Build dependencies for me is:
fink install gtk+2
Looks like I am getting a corrupt file when I try this:

docbkx412.zip.

I tried downloading it from the Oasis web/ftp site and it is corrupt there. Sent the webmaster a message advising of this. Did you need DocBook support to complete the installation of the gtk+2 package?

BTW, it looks like I will have more free time this week than I originally planned on, but I will be very busy and only have time to troubleshoot a few problems.

Also, I would like to ask other folks on the list what they are using to get gtk+2 support running?

your problems sound a little bit familiar to me. When I started building OOo on my Mac a few weeks ago I stepped into the same problems with fink and gtk+.

1. During installation of gtk+2 a got a corrupt file message too though
I do not remember if it was the same file (docbkx412.zip). Ignoring this
file had no further negative impact.

2. Though I installed gtk+2 and other available gtk+? packages I was not
able to build mozilla until I realized that what fink did install were only the gtk+? sources. I still had to do a 'make' and 'make install' in order to really install these packages on my Mac. Before doing this pkgconfig did not show any of the gtk+? packages in the list of available packages.

I'm not sure if I did something wrong but this was the way for me to get
gtk+? installed properly and be able to build mozilla.

Does pkgconfig show you gtk+? in the list of available packages?

I've decided to submit a bug report to Fink. It appears that this is broken in Tiger. At this time I am dropping the use of OpenOffice in favor of Office for Mac. I have licenses for it and I definately need a working system. Sorry folks, but Microsoft won this battle.
