I think the Mac OS X download page on OOo is a tad confusing, if not misleading.

In the column for the X11 build, it has this huge disclaimer.

The advanced build is still being qualified but should work well. Use with caution and report bugs to the dev at porting.openoffice.org list

Then it procedes to say the X11 build (presumably as opposed to the other column's NeoOffice build) is
  • Available in a final production quality "gold-master" release.
Two things, this verbage is left over from when the NeoOffice folks were cautious about their release, and called it a "beta".  It has been out of beta for some time now.  And now, the 2.0 X11 build is "still being qualified" and cannot be, therefore, called a "gold-master release".  Who came up with the term "gold master release" anyway?  Sounds *very* trumped up.
