I created a dedicated test-user account and log in as that user in a
Xnest-Session.

You can as well start another instance of the X-Server and log into a
"full" Server as that user.

See above, you don't need to use the virtual framebuffer server...

Using the virtual server it is kind of hard to check what OOo/Testtool
actually does, whether it loops or not.

Is there any benefit from using xvfb instead of Xnest or a second
instance (on another VT)?
