Hi,

as you all may know, during the recent weeks Andrea Pescetti has been working on an online portal. This tool would hopefully help to ease our release process (esp. for localized builds).

A description of the tool is available at http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Release_QA_Tracking_Tool

At the moment, most of the functionality is implemented (see http://www.qatrack.org/) and a test environment has been set up (http://www.qatrack.org/204/index.php). We need people who like to work with the tool and give feedback about the functionality / usability.

So if you are involved in the process of a (localized) release, please help. We ar looking for all kind of roles, as defined in the tool description. In short we would need:

- Administrators (People who are interested in administrating the tool and the process - atm Andrea and me have this role)

- Build Providers (who just like to "announce" the availabilty of new binary files for testing)

- QA-Leads (people who will approve a build for a localization / platform)

If you are interested and have the time, please send me (cc andrea) a mail, so we can create an account. Please tell us the role and the localization (for QA-Leads). I'd like to test the tool with the upcoming 2.0.4RC3.

For Issues (Bugs / RFE's) you can use the OOo Issue Tracker. Component qa, subcomponent www, use a prefix [qatrack]: in the summary.

Thanks for your help,

André

PS.: The tool is a open source application, so everybody are free to enhance it ;-)
