Great instruction, except one thing for the X11 version!

You need to make sure that X11.app is installed and up to date
through software update.
Will these instructions be placed on the wiki or in the
qa.openoffice.org web site, rather than getting lost in some mailing
list? I have noticed that you have been doing a variety of these
detailed instructions for various OSes.
