IIRC, this yused to be accessible in Tools-->options somewhere. However, in
the English build of 2.1 it no longer appears, so my guess is that it's been
dropped in the en_US builds.
This does not depend on the builds but on your locale settings ... or
better the locale for your number format. You can set non-gregorian date
format even in English / German / whatever builds. Help about Number
formats will give the details.
However, as Naoyuki Shimura states, it is
apparently still needed for the Jananese builds....
If this test is not needed anymore, it needs to be removed from TCM.
The test is needed. The problem is, that someone who does not know about
non-gregorian calendars cannot tell, if the test has been passed or if
it failed.
So this would be set to "skipped" in most cases.
