Hi,

"database ranges" defined (named) cell areas which you can use eg.
within Calc's database formulas like DBSUM. If you import database
content into Calc then the application automatically creates a database
range (eg. import1). Within the options of such a named object you can
define if the imported database content is saved or if the query is
saved within the document only. You can define if formating is kept and
if you're allowed to insert cells into that area.
If you imported data from a database then you can redo the database
query and update your Calc document by using the "refresh range" menu
entry. If you want to see what data belongs to that database range then
you can use "select range" to select it.
