Hi, Peter,

I agree with you. Maybe we can ask who want to join the discussion, and let
them tell the time zone. We arange the time suitable for most of the
people(less people in bed time).

Yes, we should add this sentence when we forward to local mailing list: If you
cannot follow the discussion, you should express it ASAP.

As I mentioned in last mail, the tool is an unimportant reason. Maybe we should
tell them which tool can be used, where to download, and how to use it. I think
this is not the problem. BTW, I use Xchat, a small tool and easy to use.

Best regards,
Lihua

The best way to start seems to be collecting time zone informations from
the people interested to join.

If you cannot follow the discussion, you should express it ASAP.

Instant messaging is always a major problem, when people from different
countries join. I guess almost nobody knows QQ outside of China. IRC is
indeed preferable because it's the simplest technology and available in
every country. I use ChatZilla which is a plugin for Mozilla. In case
you want to use a client, that supports IRC as well as QQ and MSN you
should consider using pidgin <http://pidgin.im>. Pidgin is included in
almost every Linux distribution and there's also a version for windows
available.
Best regards,
Peter
