Switch to sheet2, Select entire sheet(CTRL+A), then paste the characters from sheet1(CTRL+V);Result: OOo crashed and Inner memory leaked out. To see if there is a similar issue in the Issue Tracker, enter a query. [1] You don't have to fill in all the fields, just the ones you think will fine-tune your search. Next time, you do this yourself. :)
I chose: Component: "Spreadsheet" A description entry (down the bottom): "paste crash"and ran the query ("Submit query"). There doesn't seem to be a similar issue. However, when I searched for "memory crash" instead, I found issue 59453 [2].
It looks like this is a known problem. Read the issue, and you will see what the deveopers have said about it. Evidently the problem has been reported more than once, since two other bugs have been marked as duplicates.
However, it doesn't look as though any fix has been created for the unreasonably long paste time, nor a warning dialogue provided for that situation.
Mei Ying, if you can code for OpenOffice.org, you could do either or both of these things yourself. If you can't code, you could ask someone who can.
Unfortunately, many issues remain unfixed in the Issue Tracker simply because nobody has the time to fix them. This definitely needs fixing. Please help if you can. :)
