Hi all,

I think we will have problem with the version of OpenSymbol font in OOo
3.
See for example http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=92956

It seems that for Ubuntu users version 1.10 of OpenSymbol is installed
in /usr/share/fonts/truetype/openoffice/. OOo 3.0 comes with OpenSymbol
version 1.11 located in /opt/ooo-dev/basis3.0/share/fonts/truetype/.
Sadly it is the 1.10 version which is used by OOo 3 (OOO300_m3) not
1.11 version and we obtain the behaviour described in issue 92956.

I found only two ways to fix the problem at the user level :
- remove system font OpenSymbol : needs admin rights
- install the right version of OpenSymbol in ~/.fonts for all OOo users

It seems that OOo is not able to use its own fonts if there is a version
already installed. Am I right ?

I am not sure the problem concerns only Ubuntu. Perhaps MacOS too.

Kind regards
JBF
