The online updater isn't active until now. It was decided to shift the date to enable it until the first hype for OOo 3.0 is gone and the bouncer and download capability is good enough to handle the update feeds too. Also there seem to be an issue with the way 3.0 install over 2.4.1 on the preference folder (user data for windows).
You can migrate your user data from OOo 2.x to OOo 3.x at the first startup of OOo 3.0.
Is this a bug and something that installation.openoffice.org should be taking care of.Is this a QA issue and showstopper?
