The "Base" referred to is the baseline of the text (in fact if you check the Format-->Alignment entry on the regular menu, it actually says "Baseline...") and not of the graphic element. However, what I *did* notice was that the alignment went in the opposite direction to that which is should have been. In the first case, the graphic was aligned so that its bottom rested on the baseline, whereas it should have been the *top* of the graphic which aligned with the baseline. In the second case, I got the result I *should* have had with the first.... Possibly only those into typography and/or DTP might have a problem, but IMO it is a bug. It is probably not all that easy to correct, since the tool-tips refer to Draw and Impress, where the behaviour is probably correct (someone else will need to check that, as I rarely use anything other than Writer and Calc). > Pls check it once more.
