Don't think this is a good idea - at least for the Sun internal work flow.

Assuming that our QA will test the CWS hosted on a central server, the
change you describe means that testtool writes a file into the CWS'es
SVN working copy.

That's no good style at all. Intermediate files (in the sense of: not
intended to be committed) belong into the output paths, only files to be
checked in belong into the source tree. Everything else is confusing,
and just adds overhead. (For instance, the usual "is everything
committed?" checks before giving a CWS to RE will stumble upon hid.lst.)

If you really think that testautomation/global/hid is a good place, then
please add hid.lst to the svn:ignore property of this folder, so it will
never be reported as to-be-committed file.
