First up the new website stuff, since the old website thing below turned
into a sort of conversation with myself as I wrote something, investigated
what I said, and then invalidated the previous text with new stuff. I've
just left it all intact so you can follow the train of thought ;)

There doesn't seem to be an index.html file in
qpid/trunk/qpid/doc/website/content to match the one being used in the
published area at qpid/site/docs/, is it meant to be home.html ? And these
files seem unused, is that correct?

qpid/trunk/qpid/doc/website/template.html
qpid/trunk/qpid/doc/website/index.html

Now for the old...

Are these files used anymore? They are in the site/ section of the repo but
appear to be from the early Incubator era and are woefully out of date,
mostly unmodified for fast approaching 4 years. I can't find any sites still
using them, but even if there are some they should be updated to redirect to
our current site instead of left dangling.

qpid/site/download.html
qpid/site/get_involved.html
qpid/site/index.html
qpid/site/license.txt
qpid/site/mail_list.html
qpid/site/news.html
qpid/site/roadmap.html
qpid/site/site.css
qpid/site/source.html

OK, scratch the above, it seems they are still in use at
http://incubator.apache.org/qpid , with the index.html redirecting to
http://cwiki.apache.org/qpid. Does anyone know if the files are still
actively published there ? If so we should get infra to stop that process
and stick a nice .htaccess file in there with a permanent redirect to
http://qpid.apache.org so that we can delete this rubbish.

OK, scratch that too, I've had a read and it seems we just didn't clean up
properly when we graduated. Looks like the files are not being actively
published anymore and are just sitting on people.apache.org going stale, as
they didnt pick up an accidental modification about a year ago. There is a
bit in the incubator graduation guide that lists what to do to remove the
old files and where to add the permanent redirect for the old URL, I'll look
into doing that at the weekend too.
