Jiri Danek commented on DISPATCH-413:
-------------------------------------
I filled the Jira after the changes proposed in it were already committed,
https://github.com/apache/qpid-dispatch/commit/34040b4c8c8aabd6339e243c18e1becf7668510b
. I did not notice before, apologies.
The only thing from the issue that has not been addressed is the first part,
Explain what is meant by "any standard AMQP managed endpoint".
> Improve the qdmanage man page

> Key: DISPATCH-413

> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Documentation
> Affects Versions: 0.6.0
> Reporter: Jiri Danek
>
> Explain what is meant by "any standard AMQP managed endpoint". Probably
> reference the AMQP Management specification draft at
> https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/documents.php?wg_abbrev=amqp&show_descriptions=yes
> ----
> Clarify the difference between query and read:
> {{qdmanage query}} prints all entities or all entities of a given {{--type}},
> if specified. The output then may be filtered (to a single entity) by either
> {{--name}} or {{--identity}}.
> {{qdmanage read}} prints a single entity specified by either its {{--name}}
> or {{--identity}}. It does not take the {{--type}} option.
> In case {{--name}} or {{--identity}} is specified, the difference is that in
> case of {{query}} it is {{qdmanage}} who does the filtering, and in case of
> {{read}} it is qdrouterd.
> Also, {{query}} always prints output as JSON literal "array of objects",
> whereas {{read}} prints "object".
> (at least that is my understanding of the differences)
> ----
> Remove the mention of {{--stdin}} from {{qdmanage read}} description. It is a
> copy paste error. First noticed by [~ppatierno].
