Hi, everyone,
Could you tell me why you voted for which one?
It might help those of us who are undecided.
First let me say, I don't care a lot and I don't have much experience
with Confluence. One thing I do like about MoinMoin is the markup in
the text representation which looks nice to cut and paste into emails
for votes and such, so you can draft a proposal on the Wiki and then cut
and paste into a readable format for the official vote on the list. I
think Confluence has a text version too although in my opinion not as
readable.
I noticed a Jira issue for Cassandra [1] when they moved from
Confluence to Moin. They said their reasons were:
o more consistent with other apache projects
o better/easier to remember url, http://wiki.apache.org/cassandra vs.
http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/CSDR/Index
o uses a more mainstream markup that more people will be familiar with.
o looks better (although I admit this is subjective)
(They also said they had an active volunteer that liked Moin better.)
I also found this comparison [2] which might be helpful.
Hope that helps.
