I think there should be a > JSP page for that, but we would be interested in seeing a working example. It is possible to use a JSP, PHP or other page to render content that a gadget just "points" to. This is termed a URL type[1] gadget and is the least flexible option in terms of API integration. Most of the time, it is recommended that you use the osapi.http [2] or gadgets.io.makeRequest [3] methods for proxying calls back to HTTP services that return JSON. These services can live anywhere on the network, so long as the location is accessible to Shindig. Additionally, you can look at data pipelining [4], which makes the call during the gadget rendering operation and inserts the result into the javascript data context. Shindig does have a few data elements that it exposes on its own (ActivityStreams, People, etc). These can be accessed using the social data wrappers[5].
