Coming form a unix admin background, i like .conf files! keep things flexible and easy. Stand alone packages /severs give me an INSTANT feeling that i cannot customize things any further.
One question about option one: "CONS: To use JNDI, user still needs to configure resources" Could extra functionalities be built to automate this from values in the .conf file ?!? i'm SURE its not that simple, but just wondering. -- MoZey
