Hi, Nicholas, Thank your so much for pointing out the perf degradation. I synced up w/ Jiangjie Qin from our Kafka team and confirmed that we are running 0.10 Kafka brokers w/o the timestamp message format in 0.10. I also took a look at SAMZA-855 patch and it is far from a working state yet. Given that there are many other ready-to-ship features in Samza-0.11, I would suggest moving SAMZA-855 out of the scope of 0.11.
P.S. from 0.10.1, we are trying to have a regular time-driven release as well. As you see, 0.11 is out soon (planning in Sept), and we are looking forward to 2-3 month release cadence from now on. Hence, SAMZA-855 would make it to 0.12. Hope that won't delay you too much. Thanks! -Yi On Wed, Aug 24, 2016 at 12:10 PM, Nicolas Maquet <nmaq...@gmail.com> wrote: > Hi, > > We are looking at upgrading to Kafka 0.10.0 in part for the new message > format which includes a timestamp field.
