Dear Christof, Let me begin by saying that I really appreciate the awesome work behind Open Office, and OO.org. It is a wonderful tool to use.
I saw your idea on the site [1], where you talk of a Statistical data analysis tool to do ANOVA, significance tests and so on. I would be most interested to do this for the Google Summer of Code. Do you have someone interested in working on this already? I am a PhD (CS) student, at UC Santa Barbara, working on Sparse Matrix research with Dr. John Gilbert. My academic qualifications are a Masters in Applied Statistics from IIT, Bombay, and a reasonable amount of programming experience: C, C++, Python, LISP, ... Really looking forward to adding some desperately needed functionality to Open Office.
