I always use the English names for the functions. I often have data in
other localisations, however I prefer the English functions, too. Some
localised versions sound really nasty.
Indeed, I like your idea. I believe the functions are stored language
independent, BUT would be only displayed differently in a localised
version. Therefore, it should be easy to implement a feature, such as to
display the localised or the English name.
The only tricky issue could be for localisations where the decimal
delimiter is different. BUT again, this should be not dependent on the
name of the function, but only on the localisation OOo runs.
Just my thoughts.
