I'm asking if this is a bug. I don't really know what error margins are but what is happening here does not make sense to me and does not fit with the research I've done on error markings for charts.
Actually, I've found out why I had such wild lines. If I have a chart made with only the data series included, the error margins are OK and as expected. But if by mistake the chart includes an extra row, we get a picture like attachment 2.png, and if I move the chart at all I get the effect as in 3.png. But everything seems fine when I only have the data which is meant to be in the chart. As in 1.png. None of the other error things did this thing with the lines. I know I made a gaff with making the chart, but if the other error markings can adjust for my stupidity, the error margin probably should too? Shelagh
