Me too.. seems there was never a conclusion drawn in the discussion, the
latest mail I sent was

The definition currently given in the draft is not correct.

Well, as that isn't clarified the function should not be implemented
right now. Thanks for the heads-up. Maybe you could find something
different to work on?
