What you describe might be interesting, but is a really different issue that may even be implemented in karaf rather than servicemix. I was really thinking about just renaming the scripts, nothing more for now. So you would run bin/servicemix instead of bin/karaf That was the case previously, but has been changed since the switch to karaf, so it'd be just about reverting to the previous names.
