The problem is likely your custom 'ShiroAuthentication' class.  You
shouldn't need any of that code.  What is happening is your are by passing
the creating and handling of the Subject in the Shiro Filter and it is NOT
getting bound to the session.

I'd suggest taking a step back and looking at the samples here:
