Steve Loughran commented on SLIDER-726:
---------------------------------------

We support labels, where you direct parts of slder to differently labelled
nodes in the cluster.

If you explicitly want the option of having slider place two versions of the
same component on different nodes, the term we use there is "anti-affinity";
SLIDER-82 has had that as a requirement for a while. Unfortunately, we depend
on YARN supporting that feature, and until YARN-1042 implements it, we aren't
in a position to.

If that is what you want, can we close this as a duplicate of SLIDER-82?

> To let component run on different will be very useful, for these reasons
> 1. many distributed services want to or should be run on different nodes
> 2. slider try to let yarn be a common resource OS
> If this feature is add, slider will be more popular
