They do matter, and I'm sorry if whatever I wrote made you feel otherwise. And it would actually get in the way for my use cases - but I could of course refrain from using it. Not implementing that variant now does not prevent someone from implementing it later. I don't think it's useful myself, and I might have more (unwanted) weight in these discussions as I worked a lot on repoinit in its beginnings. But don't let that stop you. -Bertrand
