This looks like a real difference in behavior between Jackrabbit and Oak.
To confirm, we should add a test to
bundles/jcr/it-jackrabbit-oak/.../CommonTests which does the same privileges
setup (*) directly on the repository, and verifies the results.
(*) See GetAclTest.
testEffectiveAclMergeForUser_SubsetOfPrivilegesDeniedOnChild for the privileges
setup.
