For 2. : I think you want to check if it's not live and then throw :)
For 1. : I think we should change the description of when the RR is considered 
closed: it's either closed if done by calling the method or if the factory gets 
inactive etc. This saves us from having the rather longthy description on each 
method. WDYT?
