The child resources injector (https://sling.apache.org/documentation/bundles/models.html#available-injectors) currently always returns Resources which can then be adapted into Models. As some models only allow adaptations from SlingHttpServletRequests I think we could extend the injector to optionally return SlingHttpServletRequests which have their getResource method overwritten to return child resources.
