I think the question was about temporary holds when something in Lucene changes in an incompatible way - then you could pin the dependency to the last version that works for the time until the incompatibility is resolved. > How about adding a system property that allows to use a specific snapshot > version? But it won't help if your snapshot version is gone from the snapshots repository.
