just came across this bug, and it needs an update -- here's a mail I got from
Canonical when I asked, a while back.

Sadly, it appears that it's only intended for use for *released* products,
not for upstream development branches, so this is a non-option right now.

Well, as soon as you import anything to translate into Rosetta, you get
translations "automatically" without the need of any kind of
announcement (of course, with an announcement is better). So if you get
those translations to be used with SpamAssassin, it's not too eary to
try it out.

The main problem I see there is that you import the strings into Rosetta
and then you forget it, people will continue adding translations hopping
that you will reuse them. That could be solved if you send us an email
telling that you decided that Rosetta is not what you are looking for so
we can disable it.

To do that, we need that you create a release:
https://launchpad.ubuntu.com/products/spamassassin/+series/trunk/+addrelease

tell us when that is done and give us a link to the .pot and all .po
files that you already have (to prevent people to translate again
already existing translations)

After this, you will be able to update the .pot file directly using the
web interface.

Sorry, we don't support that yet.

Cheers.
