mar...@telka.sk changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |mar...@telka.sk --- Comment #2 from mar...@telka.sk --- The usage of versions like 5.034001, or 4.000001, or v4.0.1, or 4.0.1 is common, but all projects I checked so far do so consistently. The only exception I found is Mail-SpamAssassin. The inconsistency is apparently not a problem for Mail-SpamAssassin itself, but the registry at (Meta)CPAN gets confusing data. With my packaging hat on: What is the real latest Mail-SpamAssassin version then? 4.000001 or v4.0.1 or 4.0.1? We need one. Just to record it in the package. It does not matter much which one it is. When I try to ask metacpan.org I'm getting all three answers so I really do not know what do you consider the real version number. Some real life example of the confusion: https://repology.org/project/spamassassin/versions - most projects use 4.0.1, but there are few cases where 4.000.001 is listed with a note: newest version; was normalized from "4.000001". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
