@pwendell I rebased this PR to handle one tiny conflict. Following the
conversation yesterday -- yeah the Spark build has core depending on both log4j
and slf4j-log4j12. This shouldn't be so, and the Maven build doesn't do this. I
think the Spark build should just drop the latter dependency. Seem OK?
