Offhand, I was thinking this functionality would rely on the
[MERGE|http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb522522%28v=sql.100%29.aspx]
functionality introduced in SQL Server 2008. It's unfortunate that this is
version-dependent, but I'm not sure how else we can do this.
