This one has been already committed and shipped, so my suggestion is to open a
new JIRA and implement #2. I do request that the patch will add a test case of
incremental append and hive import to ensure that we won't regress in the
future (as this one became a first class citizen). Do you want to take a stab
at it [~aaditya.prodigy]?
