Thanks for the patch [~stuwil]. I feel slightly uncomfortable reviewing this
patch myself as I'm not a shell guru and I don't think that we have such guru
among our committers. Perhaps our friends from BigTop with expertise in shell
scripting can jump in and help with the review - would you mind helping out
[~mackrorysd]?
