Subject: Re: Apache Stanbol vs Apache UIMA?

I have attached a powerpoint doc having comaprison between stanbol, uima and
gate text analytics framework. Some details may need corrections though.
There is a way to bring UIMA into GATE but again through some interfaces not
natively. Just like the UIMA integarion into Stanbol.
All 3 have multi-lingual enhancement engines to start with.
We have to separate the text analytic framework features and enhancement engine
quality aspects.

Bertrand,

Thanks I'd seen the first link, which is what prompted my original question
i.e. Why would you want to do this and not just do it all in Stanbol. Is it a
scalability or Tooling thing?

Thanks

Mike

Note that work has already been done to run UIMA pipelines in Stanbol, see
