Have fixed a few issues, updated the examples and raised follow up
[JIRAs](https://issues.apache.org/jira/issues/?jql=parent%20%3D%20STORM-1843%20ORDER%20BY%20key%20ASC)
for tasks that can be taken up after the initial work.
I think the PR is in a better shape now to do the code review. @revans2
@HeartSaVioR would appreciate if you could also take a look as time permits.
