@revans2 This pr will not fully fix my issue however i will not get anymore
class cast exception. validation will fail according to
[annotation](https://github.com/apache/storm/blob/master/storm-client/src/jvm/org/apache/storm/Config.java#L1059)
and
[ConfigValidator](https://github.com/apache/storm/blob/master/storm-client/src/jvm/org/apache/storm/validation/ConfigValidation.java#L657)
