Danijel Schiavuzzi commented on STORM-215:
------------------------------------------

As far as I can tell, 0MQ support has been removed from Storm 0.9.1 and Netty
is the default and only transport now.

Before that it was possible to change the transport by setting this property in
storm.yaml:

{{storm.messaging.transport: "backtype.storm.messaging.zmq"}}

However this doesn't work anymore (nor doesn't the "zmq" package even exist
anymore in the storm-core JAR). Which is unfortunate because Netty transport
has had the "negative timeout" bug which is currently only fixed in Storm trunk
and to-be-released in version 0.9.2.

> As of 0.9.1 Storm uses the Netty transport by default. We should document the
> process of building, installing, and configuring the 0mq-based transport for
> those who want to use it.
