Building the project locally and getting familiar with the application
are ideal first steps.
If you encounter any problems here, please let us know.

We have a bunch of good first issues available
(https://github.com/apache/streampipes/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3A%22good+first+issue%22),
if any of them pique your interest, feel free to just comment there
that you want to work on it so we can assign you. The same applies if
you are interested in any of the other topics, but some of them might
be a bit overwhelming for a first contribution.

In terms of developer resources, our wiki is a great place to start.
You can also check out our GitHub discussion page.
For communication, the main places to start are this list and the
GitHub discussion page. There's also our Apache Slack channel, which
isn't used that much, but we'd like to get more live, so if you're
interested to communicate via Slack, please let us know so we can
invite you as a guest.

Best
Tim
