Thanks, Ate and Joe for your quick and valuable comments. 

I do agree that once struts-chain processor is ready, ServeltObjectsFactory will
no longer be needed and also RequestProcessors will require changes. Surely it
will be the approach moving forward. But here, we have to wait till struts 1.4.x
OR 2.0.x, as I see on Struts roadmap page:

Again, this proposal is based on struts 1.2 and I was trying to get this thing
working with the branch "STRUTS_1_2_0". I checked out this branch and with the
proposed changes I can run the Struts MailReader example within Pluto. However I
had to fix one issue in Pluto portal, to get it running. I have logged this in
bugzilla: http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=29421  

May be we can discuss and make these changes for struts 1.2.x and the same time
also start the discussion on how to align it with the struts-chain approach.
