Also note that I want to eventually remove the trac directory and
integrate
non-duplicate tests from there into the "main" testsuite - albeit I'm
not
sure if I'm allowed to do that. Maybe we can persuade Edgewall to
formally
contribute those parts to ASF so we can manupulate them freely?
Hi Roman,
The revised BSD license is quite permissive, so there are no
restrictions on how you integrate Trac code into the Subversion
codebase as long as the original copyright notice and license terms
from Edgewall are included with the software. This means that yes,
according to the license, you are welcome to remove the Trac directory
and integrate its contents into the Python test suite.

I'd be lying if I said I cared a lick about the licensing of our Python
bindings *tests*. But unless I'm mistaken, there's no reason for the
bindings themselves to carry additional copyright and license baggage.
If
that's the case, I hereby request that we drop said baggage immediately.
Well, we can't drop it entirely, we should just move into a more
appropriate place (i.e. the tests/trac directory) and clarify which code
it applies to.
Roman.
