Well, if it opened the props database once per connection, say, I just think it would be more difficult to conceptually bind a value squirreled away in that structure to a particular PROPPATCH invocation. If we can say that the lifetime of the props DB matches the lifetime of the request that modifies it, there's a cleaner argument for treating it as a request-specific context baton. > You mean, to extend the dav_db structure to hold that information? Hrm, come to think of it, this might be something that isn't easy to do by merely extending the PROPPATCH request. mod_dav may simply not give us enough information.
