OK, here's an ra_local comparison: Subversion 1.7 (r1078338) client, checking out from file:// (local disc) Checkout a tree with 3740 files, 121 directories, totalling 29MiB real 0m19.343s user 0m4.851s sys 0m8.069s So, it's mostly WC slowdowns?
