The 1.10 release branch has been created.
An RC1 tarball still needs to be rolled. I plan to do that by the end of
December.
Progress update: we're still working through pre-RC1 issues.
The very end of February is now the earliest possible date for 1.10 release.
The is on the basis that we will need at least a week or two to
check/resolve the compatibility-with-1.9 findings that Philip reported
yesterday, and then we have a 4 week minimum 'soak' time from producing
a release candidate until it can be released. I am not aware of any
other issues holding up the RC1 at this time.
