Asankha C. Perera reassigned SYNAPSE-361:
-----------------------------------------

    Assignee: Asankha C. Perera

Jason

We limited Synapse to 1.5.x as the script mediator needs some changes to
support 1.6.x, but I agree that if you are not using the script mediator, it
would be good to be able to run Synapse on 1.6.x.., so I will make the change
you request. However, please note that we do not yet test on JDK 1.6.x before
public releases, but welcome anyone who uses Synapse on 1.6 to let us know if
things work well :)

> a change introduced in SYNAPSE-302 adds an explicit check in the synapse.sh
> script to look for '1.5' in the java version string as part of its
> determination of how to load up bouncy castle provider jars.
> not sure if this is the best way to do this, nor if it was the intended
> outcome of the change ( or if it was intended to just check for java 1.4...)
> anyway, the upshot is that i cant run synapse 1.2 on my local host without
> munging the scripts ( and grabbing the relevant bcprov*.jar to put in its
> place...).
