Jason Dwyer commented on SYNAPSE-361:
-------------------------------------
thanks asankha,
the disconcerting part was that the 1.1.x versions were happy to run in java 6
off the command line ( java 6 has been out since december 2006, and i'm sure
i'm not the only one who hasnt even installed a java 5 vm on recent setups...)
and yes, synapse 1.1.x worked very well under java 6 :)
cheers,
j

> a change introduced in SYNAPSE-302 adds an explicit check in the synapse.sh
> script to look for '1.5' in the java version string as part of its
> determination of how to load up bouncy castle provider jars.
> not sure if this is the best way to do this, nor if it was the intended
> outcome of the change ( or if it was intended to just check for java 1.4...)
> anyway, the upshot is that i cant run synapse 1.2 on my local host without
> munging the scripts ( and grabbing the relevant bcprov*.jar to put in its
> place...).
